Biography

Pegi Ballenger was born in Houston, TX and graduated with a bachelor of fine arts degree from Newcomb College of Tulane University. She later studied radio and television, commercial art, and computer graphics. She has worked as a copywriter and continuity director for a CBS affiliate, as an advertising director, and graphic art director. Pegi freelances as an artist, illustrator, and graphic artist, and teaches art classes to adults and children. She was a founding member of the Pikes Peak Pastel Society and has been a member of the Society for Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). An award-winning pastelist, she has illustrated numerous children’s books as shown in the list below.
